Top four movies to watch on Republic Day 

As the 70th Republic Day is right around the corner, time and again we have thanked our freedom fighters and the people who sacrificed their lives to the betterment of our nation. While we all have thanked them in our own ways, so did Bollywood. Movies have played a major role in showing true patriotism.

As the day is approaching, if you do not have any plans  besides watching the parade on National Television, watching a movie is a great way to have fun on this day. Here is a list of top five films to watch on Republic Day.

Top Four movies to watch on Republic Day: 

1.    Chak De! India- Indian sports film "Chak De! India" starring Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh khan has been directed by Shimit Amin. This is one patriot film which is based on the story of Indian Women's national hockey team. The film takes inspiration from the women's hockey team win at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. This movie has won numerous awards.

2.    Bhaag Milkha Bhaag- Farhan Akhtar had received a Filmfare award for best actor for his brilliant performance in "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag". This film was also bestowed with the prestigious National award. It is based on the life of an Indian athlete, who was an Olympian and national champion runner, Milkha Singh. It has been directed by ace filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film made a whooping budget of 300 million.

3.    Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India- An all time classic film "Lagaan" featuring Aamir Khan has become a huge box office hit. This drama film is set in the Victorian period of India's colonial British rule. The plot of the film revolves around how a group of village inhabitants, who are burden by the heavy taxes and they fight against the arrogant British officers over a game of cricket.

4.    Rang De Basanti- Another all time favourite film "Rang De Basanti", directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has an ensemble cast consisting of R. Madhavan, Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan,  Siddharth Narayan, Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Sharman Joshi and British actress Alice Patten. The film is inspired by the Indian freedom fighters. The plot revolves around five men hailing from Delhi after being inspired by five revolutionary Indian freedom fighters; they assassinate an Indian Defence Minister for his act of corruption.
