Chopard’s L.U.C. Perpetual T Spirit of la Santa Muerte

The much sought-after Swiss watchmakers at Chopard have created another beautiful timepiece that will leave watch enthusiasts clamoring for more. Chopard is known for its perfect fusion of traditional style and finely crafted movements. This time, however, the Chopard L.U.C. Perpetual T Spirit of la Santa Muerte has redefined the brand’s style by tagging itself as Chopard’s most extravagant piece ever. Specially designed for the 2018 SIAR Watch Fair in Mexico, this odd yet attractive timepiece had been adorned in motifs inspired by Mexico’s Dia de Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead. The festival is an annual event held in October that is a celebration of the departed. The watch has been named after the Mexican patron saint of death, which explains why the design features sugar skulls, which are a Mexican staple. Ultimately, however, the design is overshadowed by the incredible machinery that comes embedded in this timepiece. The perpetual calendar, the invisible tourbillon regulator, and the 9-day power reserve are just the beginning of the amazing journey into this watch’s handiwork. The use of gold for the dial gives the watch the rich feel, as do the radical guilloche edges and the incredible hand-painted black lacquer skull set into the dial. Get your hands on one of these stunners and you’ll see that this watch can be full of surprises.    - Courtesy:
