Memorably Uninhibited

Anne-Marie is the new kid to watch out for, on the block! The English singer and songwriter who first shot to fame with Clean Bandit’s 2016 hit single, ‘Rockabye’ alongside Sean Paul released her debut album, titled Speak Your Mind on April 27. After a long wait, fans went crazy as soon as she announced the release on her twitter account. The 27-year-old collaborated with song writer Emily Warren, Ina Wroldsen, and even with Ed Sheeran for the songs on her new album.

We got a feel of her new album from the singles ‘Ciao Adios’, ‘Alarm’, ‘Heavy’, and ‘FRIENDS’ and the remaining tracks on her album have sure lived up to the hype the first few singles created. Anne-Marie chooses to be vocal about issues like body image, current affairs in the political scenario and women empowerment.  Her new album stays true to this fearless, outspoken, and sassy image we have of her. The album has a 12-song track list and the deluxe edition features an extra of five tracks, including the smash-hit ‘Rockabye’.

When she decided to title the album Speak Your Mind, she really did mean it. While her tracks like ‘Ciao Adios’, ‘Alarm’, and ‘Cry’ are about ex-boyfriends and bad relationships, she has also included songs like ‘Perfect’ that deals with body image and takes us down memory lane in her nostalgic song, ‘2002’; yet ,she gives us a glimpse of her badass, sassy persona in ‘Bad Girlfriend’. The album is a fun mixture of preppy dance songs with vastly varying themes and extremely catchy hooks.

We all love Anne-Marie when she’s being her goofy, jovial self; when she fearlessly lets us in and that’s exactly what she’s done in her new album. We are certain  of hearing the tracks from this album on the radio and being played  in clubs in the near future, and we can hardly wait to see how high it goes on the BillBoard!    – Tanya
