Passion has always been the driving energy behind nightlife in New Delhi, whose party animals are crazy about good music. When that’s accompanied by fine wine and food, there’s no limit to popularity. Many bars and restaurants promise partygoers a fabulous time, but just like discovering a pearl in an oyster, Turquoise Cottage offers a special quality of music and food.
Every place has a distinct atmosphere that makes it special and worth appreciating. The concept behind TC is that you enjoy the sheer pleasure of rich extravagance. TC personifies fashion, lifestyle and entertainment. Its event calendar showcases the best from the world of live music and dance, fashion, national as well as international guest DJs, and the softer side of entertainment.
Established in 1997, Turquoise Cottage Pan-Asia Kitchen & Bar needs almost no introduction. It has been felicitated umpteen times, be it the award for best music in pubs and restaurants (2004), making the Cosmopolitan top 50 restaurants list (2005), or being listed by both Hindustan Times and The New York Times as one of the country’s best destinations (2006). Now, the TC brand has taken up residence in the upmarket DLF Place in Saket.
The menu features some absolutely sumptuous items such as vegetarian and non-vegetarian platters, chilli chicken/fish/paneer, chilli-honey potatoes, BBQ chicken wings, and spring rolls. Complementing them are drinks like Long Island iced tea, beer, and a number of shots and cocktails.
For the uninitiated, TC has been a frontrunner in promoting indie rock bands, many of whom started their fledgling careers playing at open mic nights. Its blend of music stretching from the 1960s to the 80s launched a series of copycat retro bars and restaurants, but the original remains very much TC’s.
